Horizons' Statement on COVID-19.
Horizons for Homeless Children shares your concern about Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19. Currently, our operations have been impacted in the following ways:
- Playspace volunteer shifts have been temporarily suspended to reduce the traffic in and out of the shelter system. Our Playspaces remain open in 90 family shelters so children have access to play during this stressful time.
- Our early education centers are closed with the intent of reopening on Monday, May 4th.
- Our physical offices have closed and Horizons staff are working remotely to continue fulfilling our mission as we plan for a return to operations as usual.
- We continue to support our families in shelter through regular communication and are currently providing support to help them access the basic necessities typically provided by our childcare program (diapers, wipes, breakfast, lunch and snacks.) To help us provide this ongoing support, please make a gift here.
We are taking steps to do our part to protect the safety of our children and families, employees, volunteers, partners and extended community. Check back here to see updates as they become available.
