What your gift means to Horizons
A gift of $10,000 is the cost of monthly delivery of food boxes containing fresh fruit and vegetables, dry goods and shelf stable milk. It provides food assistance to more than 100 families in our Family Partnership Program.
A gift of $5,000 helps cover the cost of supplying one classroom in the new Edgerley Family Horizons Center with furniture, books, toys, games and supplies needed for our early education curriculum that includes STEM and creative arts learning.
A gift of $3,000 helps cover the costs and staff replenishing one of Horizons’ 90+ trauma-informed play rooms located in family shelters throughout the state with books, toys, games, and cleaning supplies in preparation for indoor Playspace sessions resuming later this year.
A gift of $1,000 helps address the trauma of homelessness and its impact on a child’s development with mental health services for our toddlers for one month. Mental health services are embedded within Horizons’ early education program with visiting clinicians who observe children in the classroom to provide insights into children’s behaviors, offer guidance to caregivers and parents to help them support children’s learning and growth.
A gift of $500 helps one of our pre-schoolers get ready for Kindergarten, with support from our Next School staff who help families identify the best elementary school for their child and provides each child with a backpack of supplies for the next step on their learning pathway.
A gift of $250 helps fund the cost of breakfast, lunch and snacks for one of Horizons’ classrooms each week in our Early Education Centers, ensuring that each child is receiving nutritious food on a regular schedule during the school day.
A gift of $100 helps cover the cost of games, toys and supplies to set up our new outdoor Playspaces that have resumed this spring, giving children in shelter an opportunity to leave their shelter rooms for two hours a day to play with other children and our PAL volunteers.
A gift of $50 helps supply diapers, wipes, and formula for one week in an infant classroom.
