We work to create spaces that honor individual experiences and seek to build understanding and empathy for one another.
Horizons hosts several employee-led groups designed to provide a safe space for staff to facilitate dialogue, offer feedback, and foster development opportunities and connections. These voluntary groups are open to all employees.
Our Current Employee Networks Include:
Pride| Hispanic/Latinx | People of Color (POC) | Allies
Each group has developed its mission statement and is working toward goals to support this:
The Pride Network’s mission is to foster a community of respect, support, and awareness of all sexual orientations, gender identities, and expressions.
The Hispanic/Latinx Network has been formed to build a community where cooperation and empathy are fostered to promote a welcoming and respectful environment. We encourage maintaining open and honest communication that allows us to collaborate as a team to create an atmosphere of integration within the Horizons for Homeless Children community.
The People of Color (POC) Network is working to establish a dual relationship that benefits organizational needs and creates a safe space and a sense of community where employees can share resources and have opportunities for growth.
The Allies Network at Horizons empowers employees to self-educate, reflect, and grow to become active seekers of justice within and beyond Horizons for oppressed communities.
