Boston Marathon

Horizons for Homeless Children is a proud member of the Bank of America Boston Marathon Official Charity Program. Our runner’s fundraising efforts directly support our mission to improve the lives of children and families experiencing homelessness in Massachusetts. Together, we can ensure that every child experiencing homelessness will have the opportunity to learn, play, and thrive.

Calvin Lemley

My motivation goes far beyond the finish line. I am running in honor of my mom, Jennifer Lemley, who embodied kindness, resilience, and an unwavering belief in the good that people can do for one another. I’m also running to help ensure that children receive the vital resources, programs, and consistent support that Horizons offers.

I am passionate about making a positive impact in my community and beyond. Last year, I ran the Boston Marathon as a member of the Horizons for Homeless Children Charity team raising, with your generosity, over $25,000. This year, I am hoping to raise $26,200: $1000 for every mile I run.

For the past year, I’ve volunteered in Horizons classrooms and witnessed how stability and creativity can transform a child’s world. The teachers’ dedication and the children’s resilience remind me why this work matters. This run is for them. Every dollar raised helps Horizons continue its life-changing work, giving children the safety, care, and opportunity they deserve.

As I continue on my marathon journey I am very excited to be running the Boston Marathon on my birthday in 2026! I started this journey with fundraising for the Chicago Marathon and I am very proud to be fundraising again for the Boston Marathon , another great organzation for the Boston Marathon: Horizon for Homeless Children.
