Introducing Team Horizons for the 130th Boston Marathon presented by Bank of America!

Calvin Lemley

As Northwestern University student Calvin trains for the marathon, his motivation goes far beyond the finish line: he is running to create brighter futures for the children and families who receive care and education through Horizons.

His run also carries a deeply personal meaning. Calvin is running in honor of his mother, Jennifer Lemley, who passed away unexpectedly in September. Calvin says Jennifer “embodied kindness, resilience, and had an unwavering belief in the good that people can do for one another.” She taught Calvin to show up for others, and he aims to carry her spirit forward through his support for a cause that mattered deeply to her. Jennifer was dedicated to helping families experiencing homelessness, and this marathon holds extra significance for Calvin as he honors her memory.

Francesca Ciampa

As a Horizons classroom volunteer, Francesca has witnessed firsthand how transformative a stable and playful environment can be. A current Boston College student pursuing a degree in Social Work, Francesca is impressed by both the teachers and the children. Her time in the classroom serves as a reminder of why she’s running.

Participating in the Boston Marathon has been a dream of Francesca’s, and she is proud to do it on behalf of the children and families at Horizons. “This run is for them – for their laughter, their strength, and their dreams.”

Hannah Kilson

This is Hannah’s third Boston Marathon supporting Horizons. As a co-chair of the Horizons Advisory Council, Hannah is committed to addressing issues of homelessness and affordable housing. In fact, it is part of her professional work as an attorney at Nolan Sheehan Patten LLP, where she works with developers and lenders to build affordable housing in Massachusetts

Hannah finds tremendous satisfaction in being able to galvanize friends and families to support important social causes, like family homelessness, through her running. Last year, she made it a family affair as her daughter, Caila, joined her on Team Horizons. This year, she is hoping to raise $26,200: $1,000 for every mile on the course.

Bob Cremin

Bob is no stranger to long distance running and has run 63 marathons across the world. The Boston Marathon and Team Horizons hold a special place for Bob, and this year, he will run his 13th Boston Marathon to support children and families experiencing homelessness.

Bob says he wouldn’t be where he is today without the programs that helped him through some difficult times growing up in Brooklyn. He is particularly moved by Horizons’ dedication to helping not only children, but also their parents. When Bob first toured Horizons’ early education center, he was overwhelmed by the passion of the teachers, staff and volunteers who show up for our families every day. Ever since then, he has been proudly representing Team Horizons.

Michael is a seasoned runner and has run multiple marathons in the U.S. and abroad. This is his first time running the Boston Marathon, and it happens to fall on his birthday! He’s excited to celebrate by supporting Team Horizons.

Michael believes in the importance of community, and he wants his supporters to know that their contributions make a difference. Every mile he runs will raise awareness and funds to help provide essential resources and support for Horizons’ children and their families.

Adam (Yuhe) Chen

Adam has volunteered on the sidelines of the Boston Marathon many times. After years of training, his dream of running this iconic race will finally come true in April. Inspired by the many runners who use their miles to make a difference, he is honored to run Boston not only for himself, but as a part of Team Horizons.

Adam is grateful to his running club and his family, and he wants his supporters to know how much their contributions—at any level—make a difference.
