We want to make it easy for you to share your passion for Horizons with your friends, family, and
beyond. Using GoFundMe Charity, you can now create your own online fundraiser that is easy to set up
and share.
Share your commitment to homeless children with your friends and coworkers by hosting a fundraiser at your home, office, or in your community. You can raise money for Horizons by doing activities you already love, from barre classes to bake sales.
Invite friends and neighbors to an event in your home Serve wine and hors d’oeuvres in the evening or host a Sunday brunch or afternoon tea. Share a story about your relationship with Horizons for Homeless Children and ask people to join in support.
Create a shopping event Ask a local toy store or bookstore to partner with you and invite guests to shop and donate a portion of the proceeds to Horizons for Homeless Children.
Get your children involved While we do not offer volunteering opportunities to children under 16 years of age, we’ve put together this fun list of opportunities to get your children involved in giving back!
Make a company challenge Set a fundraising goal for your department or company to hit by a certain date. Don’t forget to measure your progress as you go and take a group photo to celebrate your success and team building.
Throw an alternative party Make your next birthday, holiday, or other celebration an opportunity to share your enthusiasm about supporting homeless children and families. In lieu of gifts, ask for donations to Horizons for Homeless Children.

Work with a Child Coordinate a bake sale or lemonade stand, babysit, mow lawns, shovel snow, pet-sit—you name it—and donate a portion or all of your earnings to Horizons.
Run with a Child Host a fun run! Start a walk/run in your hometown or register for an already established race, ride, or color run as a way to support the children at Horizons.
Read to a Child Collect new books for children 0-6 years old. Purchase your favorite book or buy one of our suggested books and help start a child along the path toward success at school.
Create with a Child Make your own event! Host a Spoof Olympics or a Scavenger Hunt and collect donations from friends and family to participate. Organize an event at your school (with permission), like a dance or concert, and sell tickets or ask for a donation at the door.
Why Horizons?
We are the Commonwealth’s leading organization devoted exclusively to serving homeless children. We work to ensure that homeless children have the same opportunities — to grow, learn and play–as all children in Massachusetts.
