Celebrating the Holidays with Horizons

Holiday cheer is everywhere, especially within the halls of Horizons’ Early Education Centers. Every year Horizons embraces the holiday season through festive celebrations with each other and our community of supporters. This year was no exception. Our programs honored traditions of holiday seasons past, and started new ones for the years to come.

In early December, our program’s families came together at our Early Education Centers for our annual Celebration of Families. The celebration included donated nutritious and flavorful meals from Nzuko, while Boston-based Masterworks Chorale spread holiday cheer performing holiday carols for everyone to enjoy.  Through the generous meal donations, efforts from our volunteers, and the gift of music, we celebrated the season in a way that may otherwise be inaccessible for some.

The magic of the holiday season continued when we held our first-ever Holidays with Horizons event at our Roxbury Early Education Center. Our supporters and their families joined us for a festive morning filled with holiday treats, arts and crafts, and making gifts for the families in our programs. The event also included tours of the center, the opportunity to learn more about our services, and a child-friendly discussion about the impact of homelessness. To see some of the fun from the event, check out the photos here.

As we reflect on this year during the season of giving, we would like extend our sincere thanks to our supporters for all they’ve done for Horizons.  Happy Holidays and best wishes for a wonderful New Year!
